Katherine Thompson, PhD, PA-C is a forensic psychology researcher, physician assistant, and nationally recognized educator specializing in intimate partner violence, coercive control, and nonfatal strangulation. With nearly two decades of experience in direct victim services and medical forensic response, she works at the intersection of healthcare, violence prevention, and systems reform. Katherine teaches healthcare providers across the U.S. and leads research focused on trauma-informed systems and strangulation in abusive relationships and our society at large. She is the author of Stolen Breath, a forthcoming work exploring strangulation, sex, power, and coercive control.
